SIFE Nationals Conference and Championships 2011

The 2011 SIFE Australia National Conference brings together 29 teams from across Australia to share and engage fellow students in their respective Community Projects. The winner of the competition element will receive a chance to compete with teams from 39 countries across a student network of 42,000 students in Kuala Lumpur in October this year.

SIFE 2011 Showcase

The 2011 SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) Showcase, held on 11 July 2011 will be a celebration of the University of Melbourne SIFE team's achievements over the past year. Presentations will highlight the accomplishments of each project and set out SIFE's vision for the next 12 months. The Showcase also represents an opportunity for SIFE to recognise the business and community partners who have worked in partnership with the team over the years.

T.A.G Schools Proposal Writing Workshop

On Saturday May 21st, nine secondary schools across Victoria joined the Think.Act.Green team at the University of Melbourne for an exciting day of budgeting and proposal writing. We kick started the morning with a round of environmental trivia where students were asked questions such as ‘what percentage of the Amazon rainforest is lost annually’ and ‘what is desalination’. The mic was then handed over to Mowen Lee, former SIFE member and current employee at Ernst & Young, to present the budgeting skills session for the morning. Mowen introduced the students to the inner workings of a budget, outlining how to plan a budget and describing ways to calculate income and expenses. Former Think.Act.Green member Krishna Nair and former SIFE member Wen Dee Yeoh took reigns over the proposal writing session, where they analysed last year’s winning proposal from PLC.

ECNA Corporate Social Awareness Function

On the evening of Thursday 3rd September, students and corporate representatives gathered in the University of Melbourne's Copland Theatre for the inaugural Corporate Social Awareness Function, hosted by the Extra-Curricular Network Australia (ECNA). ECNA is a student-led organisation that provides a centralised forum for students wishing to pursue extra-curricular opportunities.
