Corporate Sponsorship

The University of Melbourne SIFE is a self-supporting, non-profit organisation. SIFE’s activities are funded by government grants, private grants, corporate sponsorship, university support and competition prize money. Funding is used to directly support the project portfolio, to provide professional training workshops for student members, to subsidise National Conference and World Cup expenditure, and to provide for general administrative expenses.

We are able to create an individual sponsorship package that meets the interests and objectives of your organisation, as well as those of The University of Melbourne SIFE.

Other Opportunities for Engagement

Active engagement with students of the University of Melbourne SIFE provides members of the business community with the opportunity to personally and professionally inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders. Our professional partners can act as support contacts for the team, providing specialist advice should a specific need arise, or referring the team to relevant contacts in their network who may be better equipped to assist. In 2009, the Human Resources department will be running a series of workshops, in which a range of professionals will be given the opportunity to conduct intensive training sessions on topics such as project management, strategic planning, goal-setting and project financing.

Business Advisory Board Membership

The Business Advisory Board (BAB) is an integral part of the SIFE program. The BAB is a group of business and community leaders that are recruited to serve as mentors for the team. It involves members of the business community providing advice, monitoring activities, receiving project reports, assisting in the development of strategy and acting as a judging panel in the lead-up to National Conference. BAB members keep SIFE students informed of current business and community concerns and trends, provide financial or in-kind assistance for projects, critique annual reports and presentations, and provide networking opportunities.

At the University of Melbourne, board membership requires attendance at six bi-monthly board meetings and one annual National Conference farewell reception in June.

See Partners page for details of current board members.
